"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods. His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who made the heavens so skillfully.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who placed the earth among the waters.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who made the heavenly lights-
His faithful love endures forever.
the sun to rule the day,
His faithful love endures forever.
and the moon and stars to rule the night.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who killed the firstborn of Egypt.
His faithful love endures forever.
He brought Israel out of Egypt.
His faithful love endures forever.
He acted with a strong hand and powerful arm.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who parted the Red Sea.
His faithful love endures forever.
He led Israel safely through,
His faithful love endures forever.
but he hurled Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who led his people through the wilderness.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to him who struck down might kings.
His faithful love endures forever.
He killed powerful kings-
His faithful love endures forever.
Sihon king of the Amorites,
His faithful love endures forever.
and Og king of Bashan.
His faithful love endures forever.
God gave the land of these kings as an inheritance-
His faithful love endures forever.
a special possession to his servant Israel.
His faithful love endures forever.
He remembered us in our weakness.
His faithful love endures forever.
He saved us from our enemies.
His faithful love endures forever.
He gives food to every living thing.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His faithful love endures forever." (NLT)
After reading this, I realized how I don't give God enough thanks. I mean reading this Psalms, my hearts desire should be to thank God every second of every day for all the little, big and everything in between that He has done for me. It really blew my mind, especially after reading "His faithful love endures forever" a million times, that God loved ME enough to do all of these things so that I may have a relationship with Him and Him alone. I could not imagine loving someone enough to kill my one and only son, to kill people in order to make way for ones that would righteously follow Christ. I read this psalm and can't help but to sit in awe of God and all that He is. His love has been in this world from the beginning and it will be here until He returns. Well, really it has no beginning or end, because God has none. His love really does endures forever. Forever as long as God is my one and only King, Savior, and Father. He is mighty and gracious enough to love me that I have to give Him thanks for the rest of my life until I am reunited with Him.
